Should a programmer worry about AI taking over all programming jobs ?

First of all — there is no foolproof career.

There is no foolproof skill set.

There is no foolproof programming language skill set that can guarantee us that we will be in demand — 5 or 10 or 20 years from now.

Diversify.

Learn not just other programming languages.

Acquire soft skills besides technical skills.

Read widely — know what is happening around us in this new era.

Identify trends — current trend is we are moving very fast into the AI era.

Embrace AI.

It will not go away — so don’t ignore it.

The human touch will always be lacking in any AI technology — so don’t worry that it will encompass everything.

It will not.

Learn about machine learning.

Learn about what it can do and what it cannot do.

Will AI take over all programming jobs?

Definitely not.

Machine learning is only as good as what training it has been through.

And training can only be based on what we already know.

The unknown is what humans are better off than AI can ever achieve.

Cheers!
